The Soulshakers Blues Band

The Soulshakers were formed from the ashes of the Butler Twins Blues Band and are dedicated to preserving the 1950's Chicago blues / Delta sound that the Twins so greatly carried on. Jeff  is a veteran of the Butler Twins Blues Band, Harry is a veteran of the late C.J. Morris's band and Catfish was taught by the legendary dean of Detroit Blues drummers, Duke Dawson. Justin was a student of Clarence Butler and former band member Roger Tapp. Don has performed at many of the local jams for years and has been performing with the Shakers on a part-time basis Although only 35 years of age, Jeff not only spent 2 years in the Butler Twins Band but has also shared the stage with many other legends of the Detroit Blues Community including Johnny "Yarddog" Jones, Harmonica Shah, Uncle Jessie White, Little Junior Cannaday, Odell "Blues boy" D., Duke Dawson, Emmanuel Young, Cash McCall, Jimmy McCarty and Ms. Priscilla Price.

Main Influences

My main influence is Mr.Curtis Butler who taught me first hand how to play the music that I love. My other favorite guitarists include Jimmy Rogers, Eddie Taylor, Dave Myers, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Magic Sam, T- Bone Walker, B.B. King, Albert King, Jimmie Vaughan, and Anson Funderburgh.
